Wednesday, February 29th

It's Wednesday! All day, I guess they say.

It seems like Monday and Tuesday go so slow, maybe because I am looking forward to going out on Tuesday nights that Tuesday evening takes forever to get here. Usually Tuesday's after 4 p.m-Thursday night go so fast.

Nothing exciting today. I am just so irritated with some people! You know, I always tell myself, "don't do anything for them if they are not willing to do anything for you!" But they are not my family, so I don't get to choose how they play out in my life. I can just choose to be the better person and maybe they will grow up!

Agh! I'm done for today! See ya

Tuesday, February 28th

Pretty good day. I was up about 7:30. The kids were all still sleeping. It's kind of nice when that happens, you have the whole house to your self, the only thing you have to worry about is being quiet.

It was raining off and on today, so we just stayed inside all day and had the T.V. off all day and just played hide n seek with the kids around the house. It's kind of fun when you hide and the kids can't find you for a while ;).

I loved the weather today! It was storming and raining. I just love cuddly, rainy days.

I had my pool league tonight, last night of the season ;(, we all played pretty well. I was going to be a good girl (I am, most of the time) and leave when the rest of my team left (10:30 p.m.) but as I was heading to the door, I heard my name. I turned around and it was a couple of my good friends. They also play league on Tuesday's but they were at a different bar, but wanted to stop down and say hi. I stayed a while with them and got home later than I had planned.

I got a text from the person who runs volleyball at a local bar here in town and wanted to know if we wanted to play again this Spring, so I guess we are playing. I love volleyball, especially with my good friends.

Monday, February 27th

It's Monday! I can definitely tell!

Nothing exciting today. Keira had a field trip to the Korn Popper. The hubby is playing pool tonight, so I am just sitting here watching some Gossip Girl and updating my sites. Doing a little Words with Friends too ;)

Have a headache, thinking about getting in the bathtub and just relaxing.

Sunday, February 26th

Didn't sleep much last night. Aden was running a fever again and coughing most of the night. I finally got comfortable and to sleep by about 6:58 a.m, then I hear Taygen crying. There was nothing wrong with her, she must have had a bad dream or something, she was just laying on her pillow crying. I rubbed her back and sang her song and she was fine. Get back in bed and look at the clock, it says 7:18 a.m. The alarm was going to go off at 7:20, so I just got back up and got in the shower. No sense in laying down for 2 more minutes, especially since I would have wanted to sleep more.

Got home from Church and ate lunch. Got to take a nap for a couple of hours today. The hubby tried out baking for the first time ;) The in-laws (his parents) make chex mix, (you have to bake it for a while) so he thought he would give it a try today. Didn't turn out too bad, I thought it could use a little more seasoning, but it was still good ;)

Saturday, February 25th

Good day. Let the hubby sleep in until 10:40 today. Went to my 2 of my nephew's birthday parties today, at the same time ;) It was fun, got to see 2 of my 3 brothers today. I missed seeing the older boy of my brothers.

Poor Aden has had a bad day again. He woke up with a fever again and slept in his bed until almost 11:30 a.m.. I gave him some Triaminic and he felt fine for a couple of hours while we were at my mom's and then on the way home he started feeling bad again. Got home about 6, got supper and then got in the bathtub for Church tomorrow. He is in bed now and out like a light.

Missing Button

This is why I don't buy cheap clothes!

We went to the mall on Friday after Keira's school to just look around and drop my ring off to get it fixed. We stopped at JCPenney's and looked around. I saw some really cute "dressy" pants (Unionbay) that were $25, so I bought some. I got home and put them in the washer and dryer and this is what happened. The button came off. I bought 3 pair, so at least I have 2 left...

I do not usually buy cheap clothes, but these pants were really cute dress pants. I needed a couple pair of dress pants for Church and just to wear when I needed to. I just bought these to get through the rest of Winter into Spring then I can start wearing my capris, skirts and dresses again.

I usually spend up to $80 on a pair of dress pants or $90-$100 on a pair of cute Lucky, Silver or BKE jeans (from The Buckle), but I thought these were super cute and actually pretty comfy.

Friday, February 24th

My normal Friday. Got to sleep in then took Keira to school. Picked up Keira from school then went grocery shopping then to the mall to do some shopping and drop my wedding ring off for a repair.

My ring has a broken prong if I let it go too long my diamond would fall out. So I broke down and took it in. I HATE Helzberg Diamond! I bring it in every 6 months to get it cleaned and then it is under warranty and I shouldn't have to pay for ANY kind of repair. This is the 4th time I have taken it in for repair and I have had to pay for every one! I had a warranty on my rings (4 of them, 2 anniversary bands, the engagement ring and the wedding band). I took it in 2 times for the diamond falling out they said you will have to pay for the diamond because it is not covered, just the gold is covered. Okay, I put up with that crap the first time. The next time I brought it in because another prong was missing, they said, you will have to pay for the repair because the gold is not covered but the diamond is. I bitched them out and didn't have to pay for it. They did the same thing again with the diamond falling out for the 2nd time, I again bitched them out! They tried to tell me that my warranty was up today and it has been up since 2009, but nobody has bothered to tell me the last 2 years that I have been taking it in to get it cleaned. I bitched at them again today because they wanted to charge me for the gold work and tried telling me again that the diamond was covered but not the gold. Oh, I just hate them!

Anyway, after the mall, we went to grandma and grandpa's for supper.

Kids' Dentist Check Up and Cleaning

All three kids had their 6 month dental check up and cleaning today. The kids were great and none of them had cavities. The kids are 5, 3 and 2 (in March) and have never had cavities. I am very proud of this because all of our hard work with brushing, flossing, using mouth wash, watching the sweets, drinking Crystal Light instead of juice or Kool Aid and chewing sugar free gum after meals and snacks are paying off. Even the gummy vitamins are bad for teeth because they are just like fruit snacks or any kind of gummy candy that will stick to the teeth.

Keira, Aden and Taygen were actually entered into an excellent brushing contest. I didn't have time to see what that was all about, but it's a contest, so it has to be good, right?

All three kids had excellent hygiene, no gingivitis and no cavities! Aden and Keira have 'good' teeth and Taygen has 'excellent' teeth. They rate their teeth and use a 'fair', 'good' and 'excellent' scale.

The bad news is that all the kids have small mouths so there is not a lot of room for new teeth to come in, so they all will need braces when they get older. I had to have braces when I was younger and I am so glad I did. My teeth are straight and pretty ;) and that's what I want for the kids.

Keira has big grooves in her permanent molars, but not enough to be cavities,  it is actually pretty normal for her teeth. At her next 6 month appt. they are going to put some sealant on her permanent molars to protect her teeth from cavities. She is also losing 2 of her top baby teeth and if she loses those soon then it will make more room for her permanent teeth, meaning that she may not need braces if her teeth work right. I know, sounds funny, of course there will be room if she loses 2 teeth, but according to her dentist, the faster it happens the better. Her dentist wants her 2 top teeth to come out before she gets her wisdom teeth. If her wisdom teeth come in before she loses her top teeth then she definitely will not have any room.

Very proud mama!

What Are We Teaching Our Kids? Part 2

You always try to set a good example for your kids when ever you can, right? Well, I would like to believe that's what everyone intends to do.

There is a mom who is constantly late dropping her daughter off at preschool. School starts at 12:30, not any sooner and not any later. They open the doors at 12:25, you take your kids in, sign them in and leave them to do their school stuff. It never fails, when I am leaving the mother pulls up, I look down at my dash clock and it says 12:34, every time. This is not an exaggeration...it is 12:34 every time she pulls into the parking lot. I said pulls in, that means she still has to park, get her child out of the car and walk her inside, so we are looking at a good 5 minutes from when she pulls into the parking lot. Super annoying.

One day, the mother was actually early for school and all the parents were waiting in the waiting room for the doors to open for preschool when the little girl comes running in. She ran in so fast, ran up to the preschool door, opens it and runs inside. The mother (who is constantly late) says, "what are you doing, silly?" As she walked into the room to get her daughter, I said out loud,  "She is used to being late and having to run into the classroom every day." The mothers turned around and looked at me. I just shrugged my head and smiled.

She also babysits 2 or 3 extra kids and brings them with her. It doesn't matter how many kids you have...1 or 5, you still need to get your priorities straight and manage your time more wisely. You know what time school starts, you should know how long it takes to get from your house to the school, you should make time for anything that should go wrong....this means leave at least 5 minutes early just in case.

If you are constantly late, what is that saying to your children? That it's okay to always rush. That it's okay to show up late for anything. It is not the child's fault, the child cannot control the time. I just want parents to be more responsible, but that is just too much to ask of parents anymore!

Thursday, February 23rd

8:56 a.m

Not good when you wake up with a migraine like headache. I say a migraine like headache because I have never been diagnosed with migraines, but that's what they feel like. They wanted to diagnose me with migraine aura. Just makes your whole day go to crap, but I have to keep going.

Aden doesn't have a fever today, but he still feels bad. He slept a little better last night and woke up about 8 this morning. He had to throw up, but he didn't have anything in his system. Poor guy, had breakfast now he is just laying on the couch with his blanky.

The kids have their dentist appointment today. Not sure if they are going to take Aden today since he isn't feeling well, but we'll see.

Wednesday, February 22nd

Not a good start to the day. Aden woke up about 4:30 in the morning needing a drink of water. I gave him a drink and he felt really warm. He had a temp of 101 at the time. He woke up about every 10-15 minutes after that complaining that he was freezing then he was hot then he needed a drink. He just couldn't get comfortable, poor guy. Gave him some Triaminic and his fever went down to 99, a couple of hours later it was back up, but this time it was only 100. He seems to be doing better and just laying around, not too much activity for him today.

I usually do not use Triaminic, but with all Tylenol recalls, I don't feel that I can really trust it anymore. Besides, when I bought the Triaminic the Tylenol was actually on recall that day. Ugh!

I finally just got up and decided to stay up because every time I got comfortable he would cry for something. I got up a little after 7, my alarm was supposed to go off at 7:30. Got dressed and ready, when down stairs, got my diet cherry dr. pepper and a chocolate chip granola bar and actually just sat down on the couch and watched some of my shows. Felt pretty good considering I am not one to just sit in front of the T.V, I always have to be moving, I always feel like something needs to be done.

Fast Asleep

You don't realize how loud certain things are until you have to be quiet in your own living room. Aden was zonked out on the couch and Taygen was napping. We are usually pretty quiet for Taygen, but she sleeps in her room so we don't have to be super quiet, but Aden was out in the living room on the couch and I didn't want to move him.

Tuesday, we went swimming (for the second day in a row). We came home and had lunch then Aden sat on the couch and was out. He must have been worn out from swimming.

Anyways, Keira was being extremely good and quiet. So, I decided to get some stuff in the kitchen done that needed to be cleaned. I decided to sweep the floor, thinking that would be quiet. Nope, it is louder than you think. Then Keira goes up stairs to go potty, even with the door closed, flushing the toilet is loud. Even whispering seems loud when you are trying to be quiet. Then Bandit decides to eat some of his dry food, that was super loud. Why haven't I noticed him eating his dry food before? Probably because it is never quiet in my house, so I don't look for that sound. The T.V. even seems loud when you have it turned almost completely down.

Keira wanted to play with the iPad, so I let her. Of course, the iPad has to have the volume on to play a game. Finally, I turned off the T.V.  and wouldn't you know, the T.V. has a loud beep when it turns off and Keira and I went up stairs to my bed and sat and played.

Now, I know why Dan doesn't like it when I sleep on the couch. It's too hard to keep everyone quiet.

Facebook Friends

When I first got on Facebook, I thought I'm going to have more friends than so and so. So, the first few months I was on fb, I was adding about 50 friends a week, people I knew, of course. Before I knew it I was up to about 500 friends.

Then I came to realize, who are these people? Yes, I went to school with them, I worked with, they are acquaintances and it is nice to keep in touch, but do they really know me and do I really know them? If I saw them in public would I recognize them? So, I did a little "Spring Cleaning" and deleted about 200 friends, keeping mostly family, close friends and some high school friends that....being honest here.... I was just nosey about ;) Then after a couple more months and seeing a few of them in the stores and them not recognizing me, I deleted them.

It's that easy. You make someone mad, boom...they are not your "friend" anymore. Can we do that in real life? Can we just ignore someone? If we actually "liked" something every time someone texted you or was talking to you, that would get a little annoying.

According to the free dictionary.com the meaning of a friend is a person whom one knows, likes or trusts. Well, I do 'know' most of my friends on facebook. I can't say I 'like' some of the people on my friends list. I definitely cannot 'trust' most of the people on my friends list, so what does this say about me, nothing too exciting, just that I am a little nosey ;)

Tuesday, February 21st

I didn't have my 3 extra kids today, I haven't had them since we left for our cruise. Their dad works on the railroad, so he just works when they need them to.

Took the kids swimming again today. Usually we just stay inside on Tuesday's, but I decided that I wanted to get out of the house for a bit today. Taygen is napping and Aden must have been worn out from swimming again today, because he is out as well.

Gonna go play my pool league tonight. We have about 2 weeks left until it is done for the season. Tournament time is coming up again. That means I have to get practicing! I am going to start practicing five games every day until March 20th, usually don't practice the day of playing pool.

Right now, Keira and I are sitting on my bed. She is playing with the iPad and I am updating my websites. Aden and Taygen are napping and we are having some girly quiet time.

Monday, February 20th

It's still February! This month has been so long. I don't know why. Don't want the month to be over for any reason, it just seems super long even though there are 1 (sometimes 2) shorter days.

Today was a good day. Keira didn't have school, so we went swimming then came home and played frisbee and ball inside. Yes, I said inside.

It has been rainy and dreary outside today, I guess it's better than snow.

Stuck in a Rut

The other day, as I'm going through my day, I realized that we (the husband and I) do the same thing each night. After we put the kids to bed, he goes in the room for a little bit and plays on his computer, doesn't really play, he owns about 10 websites that he has to keep updated, and I sit on the couch, watch some of my DVR shows and update my websites. Then about 10:00 p.m he comes down stairs (by then I am usually done with the computer and just watching shows), he grabs a snack, I grab a snack and we put one of our favorite shows on, usually Grey's, Dexter or whatever is on at the time, watch it and then go to bed, usually about 11 p.m.

We really do need this hour. It gives each of us an hour (9p.m-10p.m) by ourselves and lets us get caught up on our work, but we do this every night, we just need a little change for our schedule at night.

We've thought of doing this sometime during the day or early in the morning, but we don't want to take any time away from the kids, (that's why we do it at night when they go to bed) and I really don't want to get up any earlier than I have to ;)

If something works, why change it? But sometimes you need a change. So, from now on, we are going to take 2 or 3 nights a week after the kids go to bed to do some different things. I have a couple things in mind that we could do and if you have the same problem you could use some of these ideas as well.

  • Just sit on the couch and talk about your day
  • Play a game of cards or an adult board game that you both like
  • Sit and relax together and read a book
  • Foot Rub for each other
  • Take turns giving each other a back rub
  • Sit outside, if it's a nice night and just relax with each other
  • Sit down and make the grocery list together
There are a million possibilities, but this is my favorite list ;)

Sunday, February 20th

Ugh! Got up about 7:30 and went to Sunday School and Church. Keira doesn't have school tomorrow, so not sure what we are going to do. We might go swimming or shopping, not sure yet, just depends on how the morning goes and how the weather is.

Got a little nap today then went shopping. Wanted to go to Gymboree, but they were closed, so I had to settle for Old Navy ;(

Getting ready to watch Grey's and Private Practice from DVR.

Saturday, February 18th

Stayed in again today. The hubby was gone from 8 a.m -12 p.m. for working at a school. He was grading for a math quiz that was at UNL.

The in-laws took us out for supper. After we ate I got a really bad headache. We got back home and the hubby gave the kids a bath.

It's been 3 hours since my headache and it's been long night. The kids are in bed and I'm ready for bed myself.

Friday, February 17th

It's Friday!

Took Keira to school then ran some errands. We are staying in tonight because the in-laws are coming over to eat supper.

Stayed up until about midnight and watched some Dexter! The hubby has to be up early to grade at a math quiz.

What are we Teaching Our Kids?

I will probably get a lot of controversy about this post, but you have to let your feelings out, right?

I was at the YMCA one day when Aden and Keira were in art class. Taygen and I were sitting out waiting for them to get done. We were sitting right in front of the preschool room, in the waiting room (Cooper YMCA), this was Thursday, so it was the Tuesday, Thursday 3-4 year old preschoolers. It was parent/teacher conference day and some of the moms were outside the room waiting their turn to talk to the teachers.

I over heard one mom talking to another mom about her child's conference (hadn't had it yet, she was just waiting her turn). She was saying, "I'm a little nervous, ______ doesn't even know his ABC's or numbers yet. It's ok, he's only 3, he's not supposed to know his stuff yet, plus isn't that what school is for?" The other parent says, "Not too worried, my daughter is doing good for her age." I saw the look in her face, she was trying to hold back, just like I was.

My question was, Why doesn't he know his ABC's or numbers? It doesn't matter how old he is. Taygen is 23 months and she knows how to count to 10 and knows her numbers on her fingers.

I understand and know that you can't just judge people through their actions or things that they might say, but when you hear these kinds of things, you have to think....."what does this mom do in her free time with her kids?" You know, maybe she is the best mom ever and sits and plays with her kids in her free time, maybe she is the opposite and doesn't even talk to her kids when she needs to.

Some moms do go by that rule, that "they will just learn it in school"...but, what does that say about the mother?

This is why family time, reading time, quiet time and just talking to your kids is so important. Kids learn so much from you, if you never have conversations with your kids, they will never have any kind of social skills and will not know how to talk until about the age of 4 or 5 when their verbal skills are higher. Kids who sit or lay around all day will not have any kind of verbal skills because they learn from what they see or hear and if they just get ignored they will never learn!

Sorry, I could go on and on, but hopefully my point comes out. The moral of this post/story is...please spend time with your kids, teach them, talk with them, ask them how their day was. Any kind of conversation is good for your kids. Don't count on teachers to teach your kids, yes, that is their job, but it is your most important job EVER!!

Thursday, February 16th

Good Day!

I feel a lot better. I can actually walk more than 10 steps without being out of breath and feeling like I'm going to pass out. I went grocery shopping today, so that's a good thing, was going to go last night, but I just did not have the strength.

I got to get a bubble bath tonight with candles and my iPod. The funny thing is that I lit the candles, but forgot to shut the light off. It's actually not that funny, it's more like a blonde moment. I'm the only one who can say that though ;)

Looking forward to relaxing with the hubby and watching a couple of shows. He shoots pool Monday's and Wednesday's and I shoot pool Tuesday nights. We have started watching Dexter, but we haven't watched it since before we left for our cruise. Missing me some Dexter! We might watch Private Practice and Grey's Anatomy though. I watch Private Practice and then we watch Grey's together, but this week PP and Grey's are coming together, so you kind of have to watch both to know what is going on.

Wednesday, February 15th

It's only Wednesday!

Pretty busy day today. I am feeling a little better.

Keira had school today then she had cheer. I changed her cheer to Wednesday's because the classes are smaller and there are a lot more girls her age in the class. In the Thursday night class there are about 9 girls and the oldest is 8. I think Keira is the youngest in that class.

Even though this class is a younger fit for her and less kids in it for more one on one time with the teacher it is not really the maturity level I had in mind for her. She is still the youngest in that class, but she is more mature than the oldest.

The kids are in bed and it is time for mommy to relax. It is has been a long week for me. I have been sick since Saturday evening.

I would like to take the time to reflect on family and how important it is. My husband's uncle is in the hospital for unknown reasons. He was in critical condition and was put into an induced coma so his body could rest and his lungs could get the fluids they need to keep on going.

This just shows that anything can happen at anytime, so never take anything or anyone for granted. For this, I am so grateful that I am a stay at home mom, so I can be with my kids every minute, make sure they are ok, make sure they are well taken care of, to never miss a milestone, to be their when they are sick, to be their when they fall down and scrape their knees, so I can watch them play sports, so I can watch them grow up and never miss a minute of their lives!

Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day is just another day for me. What is just one day to tell someone how much you love them when you should be doing this everyday?!

Valentine's Day is just another holiday for gift giving. I would rather get roses, chocolates or jewelry on a random day than a day that is "designed" for gift giving.

Yes, I'm the guilty one who has done the whole "14 days of Valentine's Day" for the hubby. Where I buy him a gift everyday for 14 days until Valentine's Day. I have had flowers delivered to his work, I have tried to make a romantic dinner and I've tried to make the whole desert thing. Why do this on a "special day" when you can do this any day and impress him even more and show him/her how much you love them on an ordinary day.

For those of you who do celebrate...Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day!

How time flies.

I have spent 15 Valentine's Days with the hubby.

Happy Valentine's Day
Belize City, Belize Cruise 2012
I had a great 10 year cruise with you and our friends.

Monday, February 13th

1:28 p.m
Ahhh! Still super sick today!

I was in bed by 7:40 p.m. last night.

Even though I am still sick today and do not have any energy, I still have to suck it up, put my big girl pants on and go about my day because the hubby has to work today and Keira has school. The hubby has to play pool tonight, so it will be an interesting 13 hours (8a.m-9p.m) by my self today.

I'm just glad I wasn't sick on the ship! Aden slept until 9:53 a.m today, I just hope he is not getting sick also. He has been pretty quiet today.

8:50 p.m
The kids are in bed. Keira lost another tooth today while I was brushing her teeth. She was a little sad, but then I mentioned the "tooth fairy" and she got super excited.

I took some dayquil earlier today and I can breath a little bit better. Still don't have any energy, just updating my stuff right now and getting caught up on soaps then heading to bed.

Tomorrow is Valentine's Day. I won't have the SUV because it is getting new brakes. I don't have anything planned for the hubby, I haven't had a chance to get anything for him. We were gone for 6 days, came back and I got super sick, still don't have any energy today and won't have my vehicle tomorrow.

Sunday, February 12th

Still very sick today.

I got up at 7:30 a.m to go to Church because I had to teach Sunday School. Just got out of the shower and the hubby told me to go lay back down that he would find a sub for me. He teaches too, so he had to be at Church anyway. Aden was already awake, so he took Aden with him and Keira and Taygen slept in a little bit for me ;)

The hubby didn't go to Church, he just went to Sunday School and was home by 10:40. I was up when Dan got home from Church, he let me lay down for a couple of hours. Don't remember much of the day, it's kind of a blur. I do remember going to Fazoli's to eat supper with the fam though ;).

Time Change on the Ship

The first night/morning.

All four of us had been up since Friday at 7:30 a.m or earlier and this was Saturday 8:00 p.m. We decided to go to bed early Saturday night and get up about 8 a.m and eat at the breakfast buffet to get our day started.

Dan set his alarm on his phone for 7:20 a.m then we were just going to give our other group a wake up call about 7:30 for them to get ready. His alarm went off on his phone in the morning. I got up first, looked at his phone, it said 11:44. I was freaking out because it was super late and we were 4 hours late eating breakfast. So, I hurried and jumped in the shower, got out of the shower and woke up Dan really quick. I told him it was 11:44, that we were running late, we have to get up and get our day started. He said there was no way that it was 11:44 already. I looked at my phone and it said 5:44, don't know if it was a.m or p.m. Turned on the T.V (to the ship channel that had time and travel itinerary) and it said it was 4:44 a.m. Ha ha.

I was wondering why I was the only one up and I didn't hear a peep out of anybody else. I guess I was excited to get the day started. :) So, I just laughed it off and got back in bed. We learned our lesson and used the "wake up call" option from the front desk when we had to be up before 8 a.m on our excursion days. Dan's phone was 5 hours off and mine was an hour off. I guess the water screws everybody's phone up. I'm just glad I told Dan instead of calling the other room and waking them up at 4 in the morning.

Saturday, February 11th

Not a good day. I don't feel good at all today. Not sure what is wrong. I think it is a little jet lag, but it could be just a little cold.

The hubby let me sleep in until 11 today. When I got up, I felt like crap, so I got in the shower and still felt really bad. Stayed up until about 2:30, laid on the couch and the hubby knew how bad I was feeling so he let me go lay in the bed. He came in and woke me up (wasn't sleeping, just laying their) about 5:30 p.m.

Went to eat with the family, still felt like crap. Came home and the hubby gave the kids a bath.

The hubby has been great today while I have felt sick. I just feel really dizzy, I still can't hear out of my left ear because of the airplane, my chest hurts (almost feels like pneumonia or bronchitis, no headache, which is surprising.

Friday, February 10

Had a good day today spending time with the kids. Let the hubby sleep in. We got home about 10:00 p.m, the kids were up when we got home. We missed them, but we knew they were in good hands, so we weren't worried about them.

I got a little nap today. I think we were overly tired and didn't get quit enough sleep while we were on the ship. We were up every day (6 days) before 8 a.m. Even today, I was up before 8 a.m. because Keira was up at 7:39 a.m. Why, I don't know?

I was craving Chipotle so bad while I was on the ship. I got Qdoba today for supper (pretty much the same thing). Good day!

Cruise February 2012

We had a blast. It didn't start off too well, but I was fine once I was on the ship.

We were planning on leaving for Omaha Saturday morning about 3 a.m for our flight at 5:55 a.m but it started snowing at midnight and we were supposed to get up to 10 inches of snow. We wound up leaving the house about 1:00 a.m. We drove 30 miles an hour to get through the snow storm.

We got to the airport, our flight was on time. We got onto the plane first plane on time to Dallas Ft. Worth, Texas. There was so much snow and ice on the air plane wings. They had to power wash and de ice the snow and ice off the wings. This took an hour. So, by this time we were an hour delayed. We sat on the plane for an hour before we took off.

We arrived in Dallas at 8:54 a.m and our next flight to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida was at 8:50 a.m. We literally ran to the other side of the airport. We made it within seconds of them closing the door. The pilot let the Ft. Lauderdale and Miami people off the plane first so we could make our flight. The Miami people wound up missing their flight. The Miami flight already left the airport.

We finally got onto the ship about 1:30 p.m Saturday. Felt like forever. We sailed all day Saturday and Sunday. Made it to Belize and did our excursion at Belize City, Belize. We zip lined. We didn't get any pictures of us zip lining because we really didn't have any time and we were separated most of the time. There were four of us on the cruise together.

Yes, I am the only one with out tennis shoes on. I am not a tennis shoe person. My flats are more comfortable than any tennis shoe!

We zip lined and then ate at a buffet. It was fun to get off the ship and be on land.

My eyes were dilated the whole time I was on the ship, so it was hard for me to see for a while. I don't know why. It could of been from my medication, the climate change, being in the air then in the water, or my contacts reacted to my meds.

We got back on the boat and showered and got ready for dinner at 6 p.m, we had a set time for supper every night in the same dining room.

Monday night we sailed to Cozumel, Mexico. Tuesday, we arrived in Cozumel to go kayaking and snorkeling. It was so beautiful their. I liked Cozumel a lot better than Belize.

We arrived back on the ship, then cruised all day Tuesday night and Wednesday. The two days we were out on our excursions it was sunny and hot, but the two days that we were on the ship it was rainy, windy, and over casted. It sucked because Brandi and I wanted to lay out at least one day, but we couldn't because it was raining the whole time. The wind was 30 mph all days.

On Thursday, we arrived at Ft. Lauderdale and had to be off of the ship by 8:20 a.m, so us four went to eat breakfast in our other dining room. The flight home wasn't very entertaining. Got to the Ft. Lauderdale airport about 10:00 a.m. after going through customs and bag check and everything else. We had a 4 hour delay in Ft. Lauderdale. We had one bag to carry on and it had all the breakable souvenirs in that bag. The person checking our tickets to get on the airplane said we couldn't carry our bag on so we had to check it. I was pissed. By the time I got done yelling at her she asked Dan, "Is she always like this?" hee hee. Don't mess with me, woman! Anyway, landed in Houston, Texas and flew out at 5:38 p.m. We sat on the plane again for an hour waiting for people to get on. So, we were home an hour later than we would have been.

We had super fun.

Friday, February 3rd

Didn't get to sleep in today. The hubby got to sleep in until about 9:30. We are leaving at 3:30 a.m (6 hours from now).

The hubby let me nap from 4:30-6:30p.m. He said I could sleep as long as I wanted to, but I can only sleep 2 hours when I take a nap. I don't know why, I just wake up at that 2 hour mark.

Got everything packed and done. Just sitting here watching my Sweet Home Alabama (reality show).

I was pretty stressed yesterday with all the snow coming. We are supposed to get 2-4 inches. It was supposed to start today, but it has been raining all day. I guess it is supposed to start after midnight, so we might leave the house early because we have to go to Omaha to fly out (an hour away).

Thursday, February 2nd

Getting closer to leaving for the cruise.

It would be my luck that we will have a blizzard when we have to drive an hour to the airport. But, we will make it!

Got some more stuff done today. Got a lot more to do tomorrow, I have to get my eyebrows waxed, tan and pack and finish up laundry.

Keira had cheer tonight. It was her first class, she loved it. They lifted her up today, she loved it!

Wednesday, February 1st

It's February and it is 60 degrees outside. Crazy! I thought when we booked our cruise that we would be leaving 20-30 degree weather and going to 70 degree weather, but it sounds like we are leaving 60-70 degree weather going into 70 degree weather. Who knew?!

A couple plans changed since I wrote about my schedule the week before the cruise. The hubby doesn't have pool tonight, so when I pick Keira up from school we are going shopping and getting some last minute stuff...cat food, lunch items for the kids, diet coke for g'ma & g'pa etc. Then coming home and making supper then going shopping with my friend to look at shoes for our formal outfit.

I was planning on cleaning the house and getting schedules written (for g'ma & g'pa) but if I have the extra kids, I will not have time because they leave at 2:00 and we have to leave for cheer at 5:00. If I have the kids tomorrow, I will just wait until Friday to clean the house and do other last minute planning.

Another little last minute thing that I would like to get done is waxing and my last tan for a while before we leave, I will do that Thursday evening.  Probably do my waxing on Friday as well.

Tuesday, January 31st

Good day today. Got another last minute item crossed off my to do list before leaving Saturday morning.

I babysat my extra kids today, Taygen napped until 3, then we went to get my pedicure and manicure done. Keira and Taygen got their's done as well. Aden was a big boy and watched us. I know he felt left out, but that is just not something that boys are supposed to do ;) and he understands that and was ok with that.

We got home about 5:15, made supper for the kids. I let them have a picnic in the living room on a picnic blanket. They just get so excited when they get to do stuff that they don't normally get to do. Dad got home a little early so he could take down the Christmas lights, it was so nice outside. I had pool leagues tonight, but while waiting for him to come back inside, I made the kids some popcorn with melted chocolate drizzled on it. That is their favorite snack for movie night!

My team won 4 rounds. It was a pretty good night. My friend that is on the team is leaving for their cruise in the morning, so I stayed and hung out with him and his friends. They bowled a couple of games while the girls and I talked.
